## How It Works

### Setting Up Your Data

Start with any text data you want to analyze. There's one quick setup step where you tell Cotera how to identify each row uniquely - this helps the AI know where to put the results back.

### Creating Your AI Column

Click **New Column** and choose **LLM Column**. You'll see a simple interface with two main areas:

**System Message** - Tell the AI what you want it to do\
**Prompt** - Tell it what data to look at

## Testing Your Results

You can **preview** the results before running it on all your data. The preview shows you exactly what the AI found in a sample of your conversations, so you can see if it's working correctly.

If the results look good, you're ready to go. If not, you can easily adjust your instructions and try again.

## Running Your AI Column

Once you're happy with the preview, **save** your column with a descriptive name and **run** it.

The AI will process all your data and add a new column showing the information you requested - enriching your data with AI insights to help you understand your customers better.
